Sossusvlei tours take you to the red dunes of the Namib Desert in Namib-Naukluft National Park. Best time to go

You can visit Sossusvlei all year. April to September has cooler days for dune walks. In summer, from November to February, start before sunrise and finish by late morning.

Plan for at least 2 nights. This gives you a full sunrise morning in the dunes and time for Sesriem Canyon.

Can you climb the dunes at Sossusvlei?

Yes. Dune 45 and Big Daddy are open to climb. Dune 45 takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Big Daddy takes about 1 to 2 hours.
